Ezra Miller Apologizes For His Past Behaviour, Seeks Treatment For Mental Health Issues
In the midst of various legal controversies, Ezra Miller says they are seeking treatment for “complicated mental health difficulties.”
Miller was arrested in Hilo, Hawaii, in March after a confrontation in a bar, according to the Hawaii County Police Department, and was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to local police, Miller was able to pay his $500 bail and was freed from jail.
Miller was arrested earlier that day during an altercation at a private property in the Puna area, near the town of Phoa. Miller was charged with second-degree assault. There have been no charges brought in connection with that incident.
As per court documents filed on April 19, the actor pleaded “no contest” to the allegation of disorderly behavior and was forced to pay a $500 fine. The decision was made not to pursue the harassment claim.
“After going through a period of great stress, I now realize that I have significant mental health problems, and I have begun treatment for them,” Miller said. “I’d like to apologize to everyone whose feelings I’ve hurt or scared in the past,” he added. “Please accept my heartfelt apologies.”
“I am determined to undertake the work necessary to restore my life to a healthy, safe, and productive place,” Miller added.
The actor has been in a lot of legal trouble lately, which has kept him in the public eye and led to rumours about how he might be involved in movies in the future. Miller put out a statement after these problems.
Miller was arrested for assault in the second degree following an altercation at a private property in Hawaii’s Puna neighborhood.
There have been no charges brought in connection with that incident.
According to the news release, the Vermont Superior Court has ordered Miller to appear in court on September 26 to answer the burglary charge.
Miller has already played Barry Allen/The Flash in a number of DC Comics-based films. Miller’s debut film, in which he stars as the sole lead character, is set to be released on June 23, 2023.
