The 10 months of this year have started and the state of Bollywood at the box office is still not improving. There has never been a film that has made so much money. Brahmastra which was released last month definitely did good business, after that the movies Vikram Vedha, Chup, Dhoka proved to be flops. In the last 273 days, no movie except Gangubai Kathiawadi, The Kashmir Fines, Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Jug Jug Jio and Brahmastra managed to earn at the box office.

From Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar to superstars like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn, this year proved to be super flops. The industry has reportedly lost about 2000 crores in the last 9 months due to the flops of big budget superstar films.

First, let’s talk about the film Vikram Vedha by Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan. This film was shot on a budget of 175 crores and only earned Rs 58 crores in 7 days after its release. So far the makers are reported to have suffered a loss of 117 crores. At the same time, trade analysts say the speed at which the film is earning makes it difficult to join the 100 crores club.

Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon’s film Bachchan Pandey, which was released in March this year, fell flat at the box office. The film was made on a budget of 180 crores and did a business of 73 crores. The makers had to carry a loss of 72 crores on the film. The condition of the film was so bad that not even the audience noticed it.
John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez’s Attack 1, released in April, suffered heavy losses. The film was shot on a budget of 80 crores and made just 22 crores at the box office. The makers suffered a loss of approximately Rs 58 crore.

The film Jersey by Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakurs, which was released in April itself, also failed to reach audiences. The film’s release was delayed several times and proved a flop at the box office since its release. The film was made on a budget of 80 crores and only earned 27 crores. The makers suffered a loss of about 53 crores.
