The Back to the Beginning Film Festival is organized to celebrate the 80th birthday of Amitabh Bachchan
To commemorate the 80th birthday of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, a special film festival “Bachchan Back to the Beginning” will be organized from October 8th to 11th. The Bachchan Back to the Beginning festival celebrates Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday in 17 Indian cities with 172 showcases and 30 screens in 22 cinema halls. The Film Heritage Foundation, in partnership with PVR Cinemas, has announced this unique festival. Film Heritage Foundation, filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur has compiled a collection of 11 blockbuster films by Amitabh.
Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, Director of the Film Heritage Foundation, said: “I was Amitabh Bachchan’s biggest fan. When I went to school to watch his films, I was often kicked out of class in college. I am delighted that the Film Heritage Foundation is paying tribute to Mr Bachchan on his 80th birthday with a nationwide first four-day celebration of this kind.”
The presentation covers cities from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad to Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Raipur, Kanpur, Kolhapur, Prayagraj and Indore. These include ‘Don’, ‘Kala Patthar’, ‘Kalia’, ‘Kabhi Kabhi’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Namak Halal’, ‘Abhimaan’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Mili’, ‘Satte Pe Satta’ and ‘ Chupke”. Films like “Chupke” will be shown.
